The
fact that nutrition plays an important role in
the performance capacities of our pigeons is above
all doubts. A nutrition adapted to the specific
needs of the current competition pigeon is therefore
also indispensable for the acquisition of top
performances.
The availability of a sufficiently energy-rich
diet is for competition period of great importance.
The researchers Goodman and Grimmiger (State University
- New Jersey ) demonstrated that pigeons perform
better when the fat percentages in the pigeon
rations are increased to 8 or 9 %. For the racing
pigeon, it is in fact the fat substances
which are the principal source of energy during
the race. Most of the standard grain mixes intended
for racing period contain only 6 to 7 % fat. By
supplementing Energy - Corn to the grain
mixture, the fat percentage can be elevated to
the optimal percentage. Energy - Corn is
a pellet rich in fat, easily digestible (precooked)
especially developed to increase the energy of
the grain mixes in a scientifically justified
manner.
Energy - Corn supplies moreover vitamins,
minerals and trace elements. Especially choline,
vitamin E and selenium are highly
dosaged because of their protecting functions
on muscles and liver.
Energy - Corn contains proteins with a
high biological quality an is complemented with
the amino acids (methionine, Lysine).

Energy
- Corn is therefore also an excellent source
of proteins. For this reason Energy - Corn can
also be served in periods with a higher protein
requirement : rearing of young pigeons, breeding
and moulting period.
During the racing season, it is also recommended
to administer together with Energy - Corn,
the products " Carmine" or "
Bio - Carni ". Carmine and Bio - Carni
are products based on Carnitine, which optimizes
combustion during the performances.
